Description

The Zziplex Bullet GT is a heavy ground beachcaster built for storm beaches, thick kelp and powerful tides. It is widely regarded as a rough ground rod, and sits as the more powerful alternative to the M4GT, built to Terry Carroll's original design notes and mandrel tooling. The blank is a composite construction using high-tensile carbon fibre and glass fibre patterns, cut and rolled on rolling tables. A powerful butt section delivers the energy transfer needed for pendulum and off-the-ground casting, while a glass-biased 7'9" tip with a full-flowing action keeps bite detection clear even at extreme range in strong winds. The unground blank has a Jet Black coating, with Midnight black whippings, metallic blue underlays, white inlays and red tips. It is fitted with factory-finish AT Titanium K Guides configured for both multiplier and fixed spool reels, and a CNC machined Size 27 DPS sliding reel seat. Where it suits: - Winter storm beaches: provides the backbone to punch whole squid and large lugworm baits into howling headwinds when low-pressure systems roll in and the surf churns. - Heavy rough ground and kelp: for rock marks where large cod or conger eels have to be bullied through dense kelp beds and jagged gullies. - Fast-flowing estuaries: excels in high-tidal zones such as the Bristol Channel or the River Mersey, holding 8oz grip leads steady in the strongest currents without the tip folding over. Casting notes: pair it with a casting multiplier and an 80lb shock leader to get the most from the carbon build. The glass-biased tip loads progressively, so a smooth, wide pendulum or a technically sound off-the-ground technique works best rather than forcing the cast. Let the 6-foot butt section compress fully and it will fire 6-8oz payloads with ease. Specifications: - Overall Assembled Length: 13' 6" - Section Lengths: Staggered Tip Design (Butt 6' / Tip 7'6") - Optimal Casting Ratio: 3-8oz - Total Weight: 783g (Butt: 536g | Tip: 247g). Includes reelseat and butt cap. - Blank Finish: Unground with premium Jet Black Coating - Joint Type: CNC machined, reverse fit joint for maximum structural integrity - Guide Configuration: Factory Finish AT Titanium K Guides (Optimized for both multiplier or fixed spool setups) - Whipping Aesthetics: Butt and lower tip guides wrapped in Midnight black with main metallic blue underlay, white inlays, and red tips. Intermediate guides wrapped in Midnight black. - Reel Seat: CNC machined Size 27 DPS sliding reel seat fitted with EVA caps - Grip and Handle: Japanese shrink rubber (JSR) handle featuring a JSR rubber separator grip on the lower tip and upper butt for cold-weather comfort. - Blank Diameters: Butt diameter 25mm at the logo; 27mm at the reel seat - Premium Extras: Marine-grade, serial-numbered etched stainless steel trim band fitted to the lower butt. Rubber detachable butt cap. Supplied with a protective Zziplex partition rod case. Why choose the Bullet GT over the M4GT? Both are capable rods, but the Bullet GT is engineered for heavier duty, with a stiffer, more powerful butt section and greater overall backbone. If you consistently fish heavy rock marks, deal with massive tides, or regularly cast 6oz to 8oz grip leads into storm beaches, the Bullet GT is the more suitable choice. Is it suitable for fixed spool reels and braided lines? Yes. The factory-fitted AT Titanium K Guides are an anti-tangle design that works with modern fixed spool reels and braid, while still performing with traditional multiplier setups and monofilament. Who designed it? The rod is built entirely on the original design notes and mandrel tooling of Terry Carroll, the rod builder behind the Zziplex brand, which keeps the blank's action and build quality consistent. Does the stiff butt section compromise bite detection? No. The glass-biased 7'9" tip remains sensitive with a full-flowing action, so delicate bites are still visible even when the rod is heavily loaded in a strong tide.
