Century Eliminator X80 Rod

Description

The Century Eliminator X80 is a UK-built shore rod that sits between the T800 and T900 in the Eliminator range, aimed at anglers fishing clean to mixed ground such as open beaches like Chesil and Dungeness. It is the product of extensive research, development and testing, with repeated iterations assessed by consultants and on internal test rigs. The result is a well-balanced rod with a very responsive tip action that progressively stiffens through the curve, storing and smoothly releasing energy from the butt. At 13ft 6in, the X80 targets a length many anglers consider a casting sweet spot. It is exceptionally light for a rod rated to cast up to 7oz plus bait, and its slim 19.70mm diameter suits most hand sizes. The rod is likely to suit most anglers using 5½oz or 6oz plus bait, as it loads up beautifully at those weights. The X80 is among the first rods in the Eliminator ranges to feature an Overlap Joint. The Eliminator X series builds on experience with current Eliminator rods, using Spread Tow Fabric (STF) combined with HPR resin technology and Autoclave Technology to deliver significant AT-T anti-twist properties. The STF surfaces in the butt and lower tip complement the Anti-Twist Technology incorporated throughout the rod. STF originates in Formula One, where it is used extensively in chassis construction for performance.
