Okuma 8K FD Reel

Description

The Okuma 8K FD is a long-casting spinning reel built around Okuma's established patent designs, including the rotor brake system, rotor with brush guards and the quick-set anti-reverse system, with all functions and parts upgraded over previous models. A worm shaft transmission system and super slow oscillation system lay line straighter and tighter while reducing friction during the cast, and the taper spool helps add distance. This thoroughly tested design allows a much faster drying time if the reel becomes wet, minimising corrosion and extending the longevity of the reel. The Slow Oscillation System makes the line wind straighter and tighter, reducing friction when casting, and is paired with a super long stroke spool of 45mm. The upgraded worm shaft transmission system strengthens the construction, making the reel more rigid, winding line straighter and tighter and working more smoothly. The fast progressive drag allows a setting from low drag power to almost full drag power in less than 360 degrees of rotation. The rotor with brush guards effectively prevents line twist between the rotor and the main shaft. The rotor brake system prevents the rotor from turning around and reversing when casting. A spare aluminium shallow spool is available on option.
