Wychwood Ionica Fly Rod and Reel Combo

Description

The Wychwood Ionica Fly Rod and Reel Combo pairs the flagship rod from Wychwood's fly range with a matching CNC-machined reel. The rod is built from high-modulus carbon fibre with a refined medium-fast action, giving it the responsiveness for delicate presentations while retaining enough power to handle spirited fish. It features oil-slick 'Sea Guide' rings, a non-reflective matte finish, a lightweight skeletal reel seat machined from anodised aluminium, an ergonomic composite cork handle with colour-matched EVA accents, and a fighting butt for comfort and leverage. The four-piece construction makes it travel-friendly without compromising strength or feel. The Wychwood Ionica Fly Reel is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade 6061 aluminium billet and finished with a hard-anodized, saltwater-resistant coating, keeping it lightweight without sacrificing strength. A fully sealed carbon and PTFE multi-disc drag system delivers smooth, consistent performance, and the sealed components protect against saltwater intrusion for use in both salt and freshwater. The large arbor and full frame design speed up line retrieval and reduce line memory, while the machined POM handle is shaped for comfort over long sessions. A captive spool release allows simple, secure spool changes with no lost parts. - Ultra-lightweight build: high-grade graphite construction for effortless casting and reduced fatigue - Optimised casting performance: precision taper and fast-action blank for smooth, long-distance casts - Exceptional sensitivity: pinpoint line control and feedback for detecting the faintest takes - Travel-friendly design: 4-piece construction for convenient portability - Advanced sealed drag system: multi-disc carbon and PTFE drag for smooth control throughout the fight - Premium 6061 aluminium build: aerospace-grade, corrosion-resistant construction in a featherlight frame - Saltwater-ready: sealed components protect against saltwater intrusion, suitable for salt and freshwater use - Large arbor and full frame design: speeds up line retrieval and minimises memory - Ergonomic machined POM handle: designed for comfort and control during extended sessions - Captive spool release: simple, secure spool changes with no lost parts - Includes EVA bespoke reel case for protection while travelling or in storage Please note: fly lines are not included, and the image is for illustration purposes only.
