Description

The Sonik TurboSpod Rod and 14000 Reel Combo pairs a dedicated spodding reel with a high-performance spod rod built for extreme casting and accuracy. The Turbospod 14000 is designed for spodding at speed, with an ultra-fast 5.7:1 gear ratio delivering 1.45m of retrieve per handle turn. A wormshaft gear system, floating rotor line guard and oversized twist-free line roller make easy work of spodding at range, while the stainless-steel main shaft and hi-strength graphite body and rotor keep it robust yet light at 680g for its size. Super-slow oscillation gives perfect line lay, and three captive line clips on the spool allow triple spot marking. The silk black anodised CNC aluminium handle is fitted with a moulded rubber hand grip for cranking at speed, and the shallow cast spool is compatible with most modern-day spodding braids, including Sonik's Subsonik Spod/Marker braid. Each reel comes with a Sonik branded finger stall to protect your finger when casting with braid. The TurboSpod rod is built on a high modulus low-resin carbon blank with matt armoured-carbon helix construction, combining an ultra-powerful butt with a progressive tip for maximum distance and control. The BulletPoint multi-directional tip lay-up ensures fast recovery and pinpoint accuracy, aided by 50mm K-Style Seaguide TCG Zirconia guides and a 16mm Seaguide XUT anti-frap tip ring. A custom matt black Seaguide XSS-18 reel seat with Twin-lock collars and 1K carbon insert offers rock-solid reel security. It is finished with depth markers, a lengthened abbreviated handle, ergonomic rear grip and a stand-off stainless steel butt cap. Available in 12ft (5.75lb) and 13ft (6.00lb) models.
