The Westin W8 Finesse Shad 2nd Generation is a spinning rod built for predator anglers who fish shads and soft plastics. It combines casting performance with sensitivity, and at 7 feet 5 inches (2.26m) it balances long casting distance from bank or boat with the finesse needed to work soft lures properly. The 10–28g rating covers medium-to-heavy shads, weighted swimbaits and jig heads. The blank is made from Toray TORAYCA T1100GC and M40JB carbon, giving it a shad-specific action that loads with the weight of soft lures for long-range casts. That responsiveness lets you feel every tail-kick and bottom bounce and detect cautious takes, while still setting the hook easily at distance. The Medium-Heavy power provides the backbone to drive the hook home and pull big fish out of cover, and the rod's low weight keeps casting fatigue down.
