The Westin W8 Powerstrike 2nd Generation is a spinning rod built for pike anglers who fish with a fixed spool reel. At 8 feet (2.40m) and rated Medium-Heavy for lures of 30–80g, it balances casting comfort with the power needed to fight big fish, making it a practical all-day option for medium to large predator lures. The length suits bank, boat and kayak fishing, and it also works for light trolling. The 30–80g casting weight covers popular mid-sized pike lures such as ShadTeez, smaller BullTeez, hybrid lures and medium spinnerbaits. The blank uses Toray TORAYCA T1100GC and M40JB technology, which keeps the rod light to reduce fatigue over long sessions while retaining enough power to handle large esox. It is responsive enough to give clear feedback on the action of hardbaits and softbaits, helping with lure presentation and retrieve confidence. The fast action provides the backbone for solid hook-sets and control when fighting pike, helping steer them away from snags and towards the net. The rod is fitted with FUJI components throughout. The Fuji T2C carbon reel seat uses a conventional fixed spool design for sensitivity and ergonomic comfort, while the tangle-free Fuji SIC guides are robust and minimise friction for smooth, long-distance casting of heavy lures. The blank is finished in a Mermagic and FE2O3 iron oxide colour.
