The Westin W8 Shad and Jig 2nd Generation is a heavy-duty predator rod built for anglers who want one rod that can cover a wide spread of lures and techniques. At 8 feet (2.40m), it suits both bank and boat work, giving the casting distance needed from the shore and the manoeuvrability required from a boat or kayak. The blank is made from Toray TORAYCA T1100GC and M40JB, which keeps the rod light and sensitive while retaining plenty of power. The broad 10–54g casting range handles heavier shads, deep-diving crankbaits, larger metal lures and medium-sized swimbaits, yet the blank stays responsive enough to keep contact and feel subtle takes on lighter jigging presentations. The fast action delivers the hook-setting and fish-fighting power needed for pike, large zander and big perch.
