The Penn Squadron IV Uptide Spin rod is built around a 24T carbon blank with a short butt and long tip design, made for casting bait away from the boat. The tip section cushions the movement of the boat to help prevent the lead from becoming dislodged from the seabed, while still showing bites clearly. The lower end of the rod carries plenty of power for dealing with large fish such as smoothhounds, rays and cod. The slim, fast action blanks are finished with high-density ergonomically shaped EVA handles and Penn Dura-Guide one-piece guides.
