Description
The Century TT-R (Total Tournament) is a UK-built beachcaster designed for extreme-distance casting and heavy-water fishing. It holds multiple official World Distance casting records across the 100g, 125g, 150g and 175g weight classes, which makes it a recognised choice for casting court competitors and rough-ground sea anglers. The rod uses Century's High-Pressure Autoclave technology to eliminate micro-voids in the resin matrix, preventing test-curve decay over time. Its Gearbox Design butt creates progressive power transfer through the mid-section into a high-recovery tip, locking up smoothly under heavy load so it can punch large baits into rough seas or deliver maximum distance on the casting field. - Distance performance: designed for powerful pendulum casting techniques, capable of reaching 200+ yards on the beach and over 300 yards on the field with technical loading - Rough ground capability: the stiff tip and extreme backbone allow anglers to lift heavy leads and large cod or conger rigs out of snags, kelp beds and deep rock gullies - Bite detection: despite its power, the upper tip section registers positive bites accurately rather than bouncing excessively in heavy swells - Length: 14ft (approx. 4.26m) - Casting Weight: 4oz – 8oz (125g – 225g) - Blank Construction: Autoclaved 1K-1K carbon twill butt, unground UD carbon tip - Guides: Titanium K-Guides (anti-tangle design suitable for fixed spool and multiplier) - Reel Seat / Grips: Full Japanese Shrink Rubber (JSR) handle with Century sliding seat / coasters - Finish Details: Metallic silver and jet black whip, etched stainless trim bands, 3M reflective tip tape - Included Accessories: Century custom partition rod bag, pair of reel coasters To unlock the full energy reserve of the TT-R without overpowering your rhythm, drop your lead slightly lower on the drop during a pendulum setup. This gives the stiff butt section sufficient time to load progressively before compression. - Tournament casting fields: world-record tier performance on 100g, 125g, 150g and 175g leads - Extreme rough ground: rock marks, heavy kelp and fast-flowing tide channels targeting cod, bass, conger and rays - Heavy surf and high winds: maintaining rig hold and tension when holding bottom in turbulent swells Is the TT-R suitable for fixed spool reels or just multipliers? The modern factory finish comes ringed with Titanium K-Series anti-tangle guides. The ring spacing and profile allow smooth line flow for both high-capacity multipliers and large fixed spool reels running braid or heavy mono leaders. Do I need a carbon reducer with this rod? A reducer is optional and available separately. If you prefer fishing with your reel low down the butt for casting and moving it up to fight fish or walk down the beach, using a reducer adds flexibility without adding top-end weight. How does the TT-R compare to the Tip Tornado or Eliminator series? The TT-R is stiffer and has a faster tip recovery than standard Tip Tornado models, making it much more specialised for maximum compression by experienced casters. Compared to the Eliminator series, the TT-R leans further toward field tournament casting performance while retaining sea fishing durability.
