The Shimano Speedmaster EX Surf Tele Rod is a mid-priced, fast action, long range surf rod that pairs a high quality carbon blank with quality fittings and powerful casting performance. Its telescopic construction gives you the convenience of a rod that packs down for transport, while still delivering a long range casting action. It sits in the middle of the Shimano tele surf range, aimed at anglers wanting a balance of performance and value. The extra fast tip action lets you step on the power when you need extra distance, yet retains enough sensitivity to show bites from smaller fish when fishing a light line approach. Casting power comes from High Modulus Full Carbon combined with Diaflash construction in the lower part of the blank, which generates notable tip speed — something you will notice when casting weights towards the top end of the rating or when casting into strong winds. The blue blank is fitted with Stainless Steel Fuji Fazlite K-type guides, which are corrosion resistant, lightweight and reduce friction. The Fazlite linings are also braid safe if you fish with braid. A Fuji DPS reel seat accommodates large surfcasting reels and is positioned to help you create maximum leverage with your bottom hand when casting.
