Avid Extremity Ultra-Series Spod Rod

Description

The Avid Extremity Ultra-Series Spod Rod is built for anglers who need maximum casting distance without giving up accuracy, control or fish-playing performance. The blank is constructed from a premium blend of 30T and 40T high-modulus Toray carbon, producing an exceptionally lightweight, responsive and powerful rod. Its fast-taper design generates increased tip speeds and efficient power transfer, maximising lead speed and long-range casting performance. Rapid blank recovery reduces tip oscillation after the cast, improving accuracy, consistency and energy transfer at distance, while the multi-directional carbon lay-up enhances blank stability under compression for straighter lead trajectories and improved casting precision. The rod is fitted with lightweight 50mm–16mm PrecisionFlow Anti-Frap Guides with premium ceramic inserts, optimised for long-range carp fishing. The guide configuration combines double-leg and single-leg frames to minimise weight while maintaining strength, durability and smooth line flow. A Fuji 18mm DPS Gunsmoke reel seat completes the build, alongside a full-length Japanese shrink-wrap handle with parallel EVA foregrip, flared butt grip, stainless steel butt cap and fixtures, and understated cosmetics for a refined, premium finish.
