Century SM Spodding Marker Rod

Description

The Century SM Spodding Marker Rod is an application rod built for casting small to medium-sized spods, with a responsive tip section that also makes it suitable for use with a marker float. It performs best with a suggested casting ratio of 3-6oz. The materials and technical design follow those of the popular C2-D Spod and C2-D Marker rods, but Century has developed this as a shorter 12ft rod with a lower diameter butt section, making it easier to compress and better suited to venues where a 12ft carp rod is the angler's preference. The rod is autoclave cured in Century's UK factory, a process that removes air from the carbon wall and resists test curve decay, so it keeps casting like new after hundreds or thousands of casts. The cosmetic finish is brought in line with Century's modern carp rods while remaining durable and practical. The 1k carbon butt section is fitted with a full length Japanese shrink rubber handle to maintain grip and allow easy cleaning down, along with a 1k carbon reel seat and standard DPS hoods for maximum reel compatibility. The tip section has a short piece of 1k carbon at the joint area, with the rest of the tip finished in UD carbon and ground to a matt finish. The rod is fitted with Century SiC size 50-16 guides and has black tipping at 12 inches above the reel seat to aid measuring.
