The Westin W8 Finesse Spin and Blades-T 2nd Generation is a casting rod built for anglers who fish bladed jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. It is engineered around the action and power these reaction baits demand, making it suited to heavy cover and thick weedbeds. At 7 feet 2 inches (2.18m), the rod is optimised for boat, bank and kayak fishing, with the length and balance to give control and casting precision. Its 7–38g rating covers a wide window of mid-to-heavy reaction baits, making it a versatile all-in-one tool for active predator fishing. The blank combines Toray TORAYCA T1100GC and M40JB technology to produce a light, sensitive and powerful fast-progressive action. That action keeps bladed jigs and spinnerbaits working correctly, transmits the feel of every bite, and cushions running crankbaits so hooks are less likely to pull out. There is plenty of backbone for extracting big fish from heavy cover, deep water and dense weedbeds. The two-piece blank is designed for easy transport while retaining the responsive feel and action of a one-piece rod. As with the rest of the W8 series, the components are chosen to complement the blank. A lightweight Fuji T2C carbon reel seat with a trigger grip (the -T) supports casting precision and comfort with a baitcasting reel, while tangle-free Fuji SIC guides are built to handle the constant casting and retrieving of weighted lures.
