The Anyfish Anywhere Grand Prix Pro is a slimmed-down evolution of the Tournament Match Grand Prix, a design now eight years old. The butt has been reduced from 26mm to 24mm, cutting roughly 3oz from the overall weight. That makes the rod easier to hold and to clamp your hands around the reel — important when gripping a powerful rod, as it reduces thumb slip. The rod has been designed and engineered to be powerful and responsive without being completely rigid. It generates power along its entire length, transferring it from the butt section through the mid section and into the tip in a linear manner. It is neither a perfect J curve nor a completely C curve, but something different: a progressive curve that locks up instantly when loaded while retaining a fast, responsive tip. That tip keeps you in direct contact with your lead and fish when you reel in, which matters on heavy ground, so you are in control the moment you turn the handle rather than waiting for the tip to go over to set the hook. Its fishing and casting capabilities suit the beach or the tournament field, and it is built for big leads and big distances.
