The Alutecnos Albacore Two Speed 30 is a two speed lever drag reel that builds on the One Speed model, carrying over several features not previously seen on other two speed lever drag reels. These include an infinite anti-reverse system and a right flange machined as a single component through CNC processing. Gear changes are handled by a two-button unit, which makes shifting between speeds rapid, simple and intuitive. Like the One Speed, the reel is fitted with five protected stainless steel bearings, stainless steel gears and a drag washer made from a carbon composite. Together these are intended to let the reel withstand long battles while keeping braking even and powerful, winding smooth, and stick-slip at bay. All parts are machined from a bar of a special aluminium alloy developed for marine environments, using CNC processes and subject to rigorous dimensional checks. Raw materials and components are selected for quality, and the aluminium parts are polished, ultrasonically cleaned, buffed and given gold or silver anodizing.
