The Alutecnos Albacore Two Speed is a natural technological evolution of the One Speed model, inheriting several outstanding features that have never been used in any other two speed lever drag reel. These include the infinite anti-reverse system and the right flange, which is made as a single component through mechanical CNC processing and applied across all models. The two speed system uses a two-button gear change unit, making gear changes more rapid, simple and intuitive. As with the one speed model, it is equipped with five protected stainless steel bearings, stainless steel gears and a drag washer made from the latest carbon composite. These characteristics ensure the reel will endure many long battles while maintaining even, powerful braking, smooth winding and eliminating the occurrence of stick-slip. All parts have been machined from a bar of a special aluminium alloy specifically manufactured for marine environments, using CNC working processes and subject to rigorous dimensional checks. Particular attention is paid to the selection of raw materials and components, all of the highest quality, resulting in a technically perfect product. All aluminium parts are carefully polished, ultrasonically cleaned, buffed and provided with gold or silver anodizing.
