The Sakuma Tapered Shock Leader is a clear co-polymer leader designed to bridge the gap between a light mainline and a heavy casting weight. It is aimed at UK sea anglers fishing from the shore or boat for species such as Cod, Bass, Ray, and Smoothhound, and is built to handle the demands of distance casting. The tapered design transitions smoothly from a thin diameter at the mainline end to a much heavier diameter at the rig end. Because the mainline and leader diameters can be matched at the knot, the resulting connection is very small, which helps prevent weed pick-up and reduces guide-wrap or drag through the rod rings, supporting longer casts and lowering the risk of crack-offs.
