This Clear variant is chosen for maximum stealth in the water. Each leader is a continuous and knotless length, tapering from a thin mainline diameter to a thicker shock leader diameter. That precise taper lets you tie neat, tight and compact knots when attaching the shock leader to your mainline, and the smooth line flow created by smaller knots and the tapered profile helps increase overall casting efficiency and distance. These compact knots are particularly useful for anglers using fixed spool and multiplier reels with a level wind, and the smaller knot profile also suits continental style surfcasting rods, which often have smaller tip eyes. When shortened, the Xenon Tapered Shockleaders can also be used by boat anglers who prefer smaller, tapered knots when connecting braid to a mono leader.
