The reel is built around a strong yet lightweight carbon composite body and rotor. This material suits a surf reel because it resists saltwater corrosion and provides a rigid frame to support the internal gears. At 675g, the weight is manageable and helps reduce fatigue during long sessions of continuous casting and retrieving. A long-cast tapered aluminium spool is paired with a super-slow oscillation system, which lays the line in a neat, parallel pattern on the spool. This minimises friction as the line peels off, helping to achieve maximum casting distance with long, accurate casts. The spool offers a generous line capacity.
