The Leeda Icon FXD Surf Reel 70FD is a fixed spool reel from the Icon range, built for anglers who want maximum distance in surf and beach casting. Its smaller 70FD size, compared with the 80FD, suits slightly lighter rods or situations calling for a balance between power and portability, while still carrying all the key long-casting features. The reel is engineered for long-range casting around a tapered aluminium spool. Combined with an ultra oscillation system and a slow oscillation worm shaft, this gives even line lay that reduces friction and helps maximise casting distance. A 10+1 ball bearing system supports smooth retrieval and reliable performance under the load of large leads or fighting fish, while the 4.9:1 gear ratio balances speed and power for fast line pickup with enough torque to retrieve heavy terminal tackle and control strong fish. A titanium coated line roller prevents line twist and reduces wear on both monofilament and braid, extending line life.
