Shimano Vanford FA Reel

Description

The Shimano Vanford FA 4000 is a cornerstone of the Magnumlite Series, blending lightweight finesse with raw cranking torque for anglers who need both sensitivity and power. Its second-generation Magnumlite (MGL) Rotor, built from Shimano's Ci4+ composite, keeps startup inertia almost non-existent, so the reel responds instantly and lets you feel every vibration and subtle take. The 4000 standard gear ratio prioritises control over speed, delivering enhanced cranking power for high-resistance lures like deep-diving crankbaits or large soft plastics in heavy current, while a slower, rhythmic retrieve keeps the lure in the strike zone longer. At just 215g, it balances well with high-end lure rods, reducing wrist fatigue during long casting sessions. Despite its featherlight feel, the Vanford FA 4000 packs durable internals. InfinityDrive and InfinityXross provide smooth, long-lasting rotation under pressure, while the Duracross Drag offers ultra-accurate control with up to 10 times more durability than traditional washers. The Anti-Twist Fin maintains line tension through the line roller to virtually eliminate wind knots, and X-Protect delivers high-level water resistance for fresh or salt water. - Model: Vanford FA 4000 - Weight: 215g (7.6 oz) - Gear Ratio: 5.3:1 - Max Drag: 11.0 kg (24 lbs) - Bearings: 7 + 1 - Line Retrieve Per Crank: 87 cm (34 inches) - Mono Line Capacity (mm/m): 0.30-180, 0.35-130 - PE Line Capacity: #1-490, #1.5-320, #2-240 - Body/Rotor Material: Ci4+ - Key Technologies: MGL Rotor, InfinityDrive, InfinityXross, Duracross Drag, Anti-Twist Fin
