Zziplex Bass GT Rod

Description

The Zziplex Bass GT (Glass Tip) is a lightweight shore rod built on advanced composite machinery with highly accurate CNC fibre pattern cutting, capturing Terry Carroll’s original design. It is one of two models in the Zziplex Bass range, the other being the CT (Carbon Tip). The GT uses a sensitive, predominantly high-tensile glass fibre tip that blends seamlessly into a carbon butt section. This taper stores energy efficiently, turning casting effort into distance with minimal physical strain, making it suited to long, fatigue-free sessions for mobile or static anglers. At 11' 8" and 446g, the rod is comfortable to hold and excels at casting metal and aerodynamic resin lures, as well as delicate bait presentations in the 2oz to 4oz range. The Jet Black blank is wrapped in Midnight black whippings with metallic blue underlays, white inlays, and red tips, finished with matte black AT Delta K Guides and a CNC machined sliding reel seat. It is versatile across light shore applications, from surf and shallow water bassing to light estuary work, clean beach fishing, and lure fishing. The glass tip sits well in turbulent surf without pulling the lead free, while registering subtle bites. For best results, use a smooth, relaxed cast rather than forcing it, paired with a lightweight 5000-6000 size fixed spool reel or small casting multiplier loaded with 15lb to 20lb braided line. - Overall Length: 11′ 8″ (3.55m) - Section Configuration: Equal section 50:50 split - Optimal Casting Ratio: 2–4oz (60g – 120g) - Total Weight: 446g (Butt: 330g | Tip: 116g) Includes reelseat and butt cap. - Blank Finish: Jet Black - Joint Type: CNC machined, reverse fit joint - Guide Configuration: Factory Finish Matte Black AT Delta K Guides (Configured perfectly for either multiplier or fixed spool) - Whipping Aesthetics: Butt and lower tip guides wrapped in Midnight black with main metallic blue underlay, white inlays, and red tips. Supplied with a premium Zziplex partition rod case. The GT differs from the CT in its predominantly glass tip, which is softer and more sensitive, showing tiny rattles and sitting well in churning surf without dragging the lead. The CT offers a crisper, faster recovery, often preferred by pure lure anglers. The factory-finished guides work with both multiplier and fixed spool reels. While the Bass GT handles clean beach cod fishing, it is primarily a lightweight 2-4oz rod for finesse, estuary, and bass work; for heavy rough ground, strong tides, and 6-8oz leads, a heavier rod such as the Zziplex Bullet GT is recommended.
