The Century Fireblade GT 14' (4-7oz) is a glass-tip version of the popular Fireblade rod series, developed in response to requests from owners and the Century Sea Team for a design offering a different level of bite sensitivity. The alterations focus on the upper quadrant of the rod, balanced throughout the rest of the deflectional curve, to suit anglers who prioritise this feature in their fishing strategies. Like the original Fireblade, the GT is designed and manufactured in the UK, allowing Century to control quality, materials, processing, performance and reliability in their English factory. The build incorporates proprietary carbon and glass fibre composites, advanced ply laminate cutting and positioning, and computer-controlled curing in a composite oven, all aimed at delivering an easy-loading rod with strong bite detection. It is positioned as an entry point into a top-end rod brand for anglers whose budget does not yet extend to specialist Century sea models. The Fireblade GT features: - Butt – multi-phase high tensile carbon composite with 3K-3K upper sheath twill cut at 45* bias. - Tip – reverse fit joint and sensitive glass tip with superb bite detection. - Computer-controlled proprietary oven cure technology. - Matt black coated, stainless steel Delta forward sloping, anti-tangle guides. - Guides set in hybrid configuration for fixed spool or multiplier use. - Marine grade etched stainless steel trim band – upper butt. - Tied in red metallic tips (butt) and Jet-Black grade A thread with multi coats of high build. - Japanese shrink rubber (JSR) handle. - JSR rubber separator grip on lower tip and upper butt. - Equal sections – tip and butt. - Century Fuji moveable reel seat (size 24) and EVA caps. - Supplied in Century cloth rod bag.
