Shimano Aero X3 Distance Feeder Rod

Description

The Shimano Aero X3 Distance Feeder 13ft is a dedicated long-range feeder rod that sits between mid-range value and the flagship X7 range. With a 100g casting rating, it is built to handle medium-to-large feeders and put them out at distances shorter rods cannot reach, while still offering the power, recovery and sensitivity expected in the competitive mid-priced market. The blank is constructed from Full Carbon and enhanced with Shimano's Diaflash technology. This cross-wrapped carbon tape prevents the rod from twisting under the high torque of a heavy cast, helping the feeder travel straight and true. The rod is finished with Fuji DPS reel seats and braid-safe Seaguide XOG guides, making it a durable option for match or pleasure fishing. - Model Code: AEX3DFDR13 - Length: 13ft (3.96m) - Casting Weight: Max 100g - Sections: 3pc plus 3 Carbon Quivertips - Weight: 280g - Blank Construction: Full Carbon plus Diaflash Technology - Guides: Seaguide XOG (Anti-Tangle and Braid Safe) - Reel Seat: Fuji DPS - Handle: Premium Cork and High-Grade EVA - Quivertips: 1.5oz, 2.0oz, and 3.0oz (Distance Taper) - Transport Length: 140cm The Aero X3 Distance 13ft is a specialist performer designed for large still waters and mid-to-large rivers. On large natural venues it suits situations where you need to reach shoals of Bream and Skimmers holding at 60m to 80m; the 13ft length provides the leverage to hit these distances consistently, while the 100g rating allows for bullet or window feeders to cut through the wind. On open water commercials it is ideal for chasing fish into the middle of larger commercial lakes where standard 10ft rods fall short, with the backbone to launch large Method or Hybrid feeders and the strength to control hard-fighting match-sized Carp. On medium-fast rivers such as the Ribble or the middle Trent, it has enough power to hold bottom with 60g to 80g cage feeders in a steady flow, yet the tip remains sensitive enough to register delicate drop-back bites from Bream and Chub. For the best balance and casting distance, pairing the rod with a 4000 or 5000 size reel is recommended. The Seaguide XOG guides are specifically spaced to minimise friction, making it an excellent rod for using braid with a mono shock leader to maximise casting range.
