A size 1000 or 1500 fixed-spool reel is recommended to keep the whole outfit balanced for ultra-light work. The rod is rated for 2-10g, covering micro shads, micro-hardbaits and very light metal lures, and is aimed at modern street fishing for perch and other predators that respond well to downsized, ultra-light presentations. It is purpose-built for ultra-light finesse work, so while occasional small pike or zander can be handled carefully, it is not designed as an all-round predator rod.
