The Westin W4 Boat 2nd Generation is a heavy-duty boat rod built for anglers who need serious lifting power. Its blank is made from Torayca High Performance Carbon, a premium Japanese carbon fibre chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio, and is reinforced with 1K woven carbon. The result is a rod with considerable backbone that stays light and sensitive rather than feeling like a clumsy stick. Westin tailors the length and action of each model in the range, so there is an option to suit most boat tactics, from finesse work through to all-out power fishing. Comfort has been given equal attention. The handle is premium grade cork, which stays warm and grippy in cold, wet conditions and holds its grip better than EVA when covered in fish slime. The Comfort Cross Gimbal (CCG) at the butt gives the stability of a traditional metal gimbal, but its ergonomic shape is designed not to dig into your hip during a long fight, and it locks into a standard fighting belt or can be fished stand-up style.
