The Penn Fathom II Lever Drag conventional reel is built for saltwater anglers who need a compact, strong and dependable reel for jigging, live baiting and bottom fishing. The 40N (Narrow) size uses a high-capacity narrow spool, which suits deep-drop fishing and fast retrieves on heavy braid. The reel is built on a full metal body and sideplates, formed from a one-piece machined aluminium frame for gear alignment and durability. Penn's Dura-Drag system uses a phenolic bonding agent to prevent premature breakdown of the carbon fibre washers, keeping the drag smooth and controlled under heavy pressure. The Pull-to-Turn preset knob must be pulled out before it can be turned, which prevents accidental changes to the drag setting during a fight.
