The Westin W3 8-Braid Smokey Grey is a braided fishing line developed for seatrout and saltwater anglers who need a line that balances strength with abrasion resistance. It is built from premium Japanese Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene (UHMPE) fibres in an 8X construction, with 32 weaves per inch producing a rounder profile and a smoother surface that resists abrasion. Saltwater and seatrout fishing often means casting repeatedly into fierce onshore winds, which is where extra stiffness matters — a stiffer braid is less prone to wind knots. The W3 Smokey Grey achieves this through a Double Dura-Coating, a gel process that adds rigidity while giving the line a smoother, hydrophobic surface that absorbs less water and runs with lower friction, helping you cast longer and more accurately.
