Description

The Westin W10 13 Braid Coastal is a braided fishing line developed for saltwater anglers who need a hard-wearing mainline that performs in demanding conditions. It is built from premium Japanese Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene (UHMPE) fibres using a 13X (12+1) construction, in which 12 carriers are woven around a central CORE carrier. This produces a supremely round line with improved strength compared to 8X braided lines. The line uses an "Advanced Ultra High PIC" construction with 56 weaves per inch, which gives a smoother surface and increased abrasion resistance. The tighter weave also helps the line hold its smooth surface for longer, supporting more accurate casts. Sea trout and saltwater anglers need extra stiffness to avoid wind knots when casting repeatedly into fierce onshore winds, so the W10 Coastal features a Double Dura-Coating that adds rigidity. The Dura-Coating gel process gives the braid a smoother, hydrophobic surface, reducing water absorption and lowering friction.
