The Sakura Mitsio GT Stick 80 is a heavy-duty 8-foot (2.44m) rod built for the extreme end of big-game lure fishing. It is aimed at anglers targeting the "bullies" of the ocean — Giant Trevally, large Bluefin Tuna and even Marlin — where popping is one of the most violent forms of angling. The rod needs to launch a 150g+ popper a long way and then withstand the bone-crushing strike of a fish trying to dive back into sharp coral. The blank is a carbon and fiberglass hybrid, a combination chosen for this style of fishing.
