Description

The Free Spirit Hi-'S Power Feeder Special 360 is a 12ft two-piece feeder rod built for carp, bream and roach, with a forgiving action and a casting weight of up to 120g. It sits within the Special range of the Hi-'S Power Feeders, which is designed for general feeder work, while the separate Distance range covers extreme ranges on reservoirs, lochs and big European rivers where casting weights up to 160g are needed. The rod is built from Hi-'S low resin carbons, making it light, responsive and powerful while avoiding the flat spots or harsh areas that would spoil the action. The long hollow quiver tips are made from the same material as the rest of the blank, which keeps the transition of power through the quiver tip and top section smooth and even. Quiver tip guide sizes are larger, at size 5 or size 6 depending on the rating of the tip, allowing shock leader knots to pass through with less resistance and helping prevent the tip clogging with surface debris. This means long distances can be achieved with much smaller feeders, which is particularly useful in winter when fish push out from the bank but you do not want to put much bait on the feeder and risk overfeeding. Section lengths are equal, and the two-piece build gives a slightly more progressive action than the three-piece rods thanks to longer sections and one joint less, as well as allowing a reduced blank diameter and slimmer taper. Guides are Kigan Anti-Frap with a large size 30 butt guide and larger intermediates, which helps with heavier lines and the shock leaders common in this style of fishing. The reel seat on the standard build is a Fuji TVSM17, giving a positive feel through the blank and fitting the larger reels often used on big reservoirs.
