The Westin W8 Spin 2nd Generation is a 10-foot (3.00m) sea trout rod built for anglers who need maximum casting distance and control in the surf zone. Its length and fast action are designed to launch heavier spoons and plugs well beyond the shore, reaching distant reefs, drop-offs and feeding fish. The 7–30g casting weight covers the majority of long-range coastal lures, making it suited to high surf, strong winds and wide-open coastal fishing. The blank uses Toray TORAYCA T1100GC and M40JB carbon technology, built around the principles of being light, sensitive and tough. The fast action generates high line speed to punch through wind, while the premium carbon transmits subtle vibrations so you can feel the lure working and detect soft takes at the end of a long cast. Each blank is individually strength tested, giving the backbone needed to control and land large sea trout in breaking surf. The build pairs a classical sea trout look with modern components. The handle is made from AAAA grade cork for a comfortable, secure grip, tangle-free Fuji SIC guides reduce line friction for extra distance, and the Fuji T2C carbon reel seat keeps the connection to the reel light and secure.
