Gardner Covert Chod Hooks
Description
The Gardner Covert Chod Hook is a hook pattern designed specifically for chod rigs and stiff link presentations. Gardner Tackle were the original innovators of the key hook section on the Hinged Stiff Link, which later became popularly known as the chod rig, and the Covert Chod Hook was developed with input from anglers who understand how these rig mechanics work. The hook has a long, straight point that is precisely etched onto extra strong forged and tempered high carbon steel wire, giving it the sharpness needed to maximise the effectiveness of a modern specialist rig. Strength was another key specification, so the pattern is built to cope with big, hard-fighting carp. The pattern features a wide gape, a non-reversed bend and a medium length shank, with a well-formed 15 degree out-turned eye. This eye angle ensures materials such as Trip Wire and fluorocarbons exit the inside of the eye at the optimum angle, encouraging the hook to turn aggressively with whipping style Knotless, Snell and Domhoff knots. The out-turned eye also reduces unnecessary kinking on monofilament-type hooklinks that could otherwise reduce their performance. The medium length shank is angled slightly in towards the hook point, a critical attribute in providing the strongest possible hook holds. - Available in sizes 6 and 8 - Available in Barbed or Barbless - 10 hooks per pack Please note: as stock of the Covert Hooks sells through, it is being replaced with the new Covert Dark range, so packaging may vary.
