Packing down to roughly 82cm, it fits inside a standard large suitcase, so high-end popping gear can travel as checked luggage rather than in an oversized rod tube. The blank is 100% glass, a deliberate choice that gives the rod a progressive action and considerable robustness. The soft tip makes it easy to work large lures for long sessions and acts as a shock absorber when a fish makes a violent run close to the boat. The three-strand, equal-length construction was refined over nearly two years of testing so the joints hold up under pressure rather than becoming a weak point.
