Description

The HTO Tempest 3000S is a spinning reel built for the modern lure angler, combining strength, low weight and smooth running. It suits a range of lure work, from shy-biting Light Rock Fishing (LRF) species through to hard-fighting bass, and is designed to stand up to saltwater use. The body and rotor are made from a high-grade carbon composite, which gives the reel rigidity and strength without unnecessary weight, helping to reduce fatigue over long casting sessions. Internally, a 7+1 corrosion-resistant stainless-steel bearing system keeps the retrieve smooth even in harsh saltwater conditions, while the aluminium main shaft balances low weight with maximum strength. The carbon-based drag system is a key feature for lure fishing, offering smooth, powerful and sensitive performance with excellent start-up inertia, so line feeds off the spool with minimal friction when a fish runs and lighter leaders are protected. HTO has removed the anti-reverse switch, eliminating a common point of saltwater ingress and improving long-term durability.
