The RIO Gold Premier Floating Fly Line is an all-round floating line for the trout fly fisher. It has been a go-to trout line around the world for many years, for a multitude of fly fishers. The line has a long head and back taper that give casters total line control and stability at range, whether casting or mending. The unique profile is designed to load a fly rod at close range, and has a front taper that delivers presentation of flies between sizes #22 and #2. The line is built with SlickCast, RIO's proprietary coating technology. SlickCast creates slick, durable fly lines, and lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line. The line also features MaxFloat Tip Technology, RIO's proprietary tip coating formula that floats more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter. The RIO Gold's longer head and lighter weight, compared to its XP and MAX counterparts, make it an all-around trout taper for carrying long, precise casts. At standard weight with a mid-length 5-foot 6-inch front taper (WF5F) for soft presentations, it delivers flies with delicacy and finesse, making it suitable for anglers who rig with dry-fly intent then switch to droppers and light indicators as conditions change.
