Preston Inception Feeder Reel

Description

The Preston Innovations Inception 520 is the largest model in the Inception feeder reel range, built to deliver maximum casting distance, power and efficiency at a budget-friendly price. It is aimed squarely at long-distance feeder work between 60m and 80m, on both commercial carp fisheries and large natural venues. The reel is housed in a lightweight, impact-resistant graphite body and uses a smooth, heavy-duty gearing system that copes with repeated heavy feeder retrieval and hard-fighting fish. Its wide-diameter, precision-machined aluminium spool is designed with a capacity that lets line peel off the lip easily during long-range casts. A micro-adjustable front drag gives instant, fine-tuned control under load, while a durable metal line clip provides accurate, repeatable clipping up. - Model Size: 520 - Target Casting Range: 60m – 80m - Body Construction: Lightweight, impact-resistant graphite - Spool Material: Precision-machined aluminium - Drag System: Micro-adjustable front drag - Line Clip: High-quality, durable metal line clip - Handle Design: Single-handle construction for maximum cranking comfort - Gearing: Smooth, heavy-duty gearing system For best results, pair the Inception 520 with an 11ft, 12ft or 13ft distance feeder rod and load the wide spool with a low-stretch 0.10mm or 0.12mm braid backed with a mono shockleader. The wide lip diameter cuts line friction as line comes off the spool, helping you punch heavy cage or Method feeders out to the 70m mark. Ideal uses include long-distance commercial feeder fishing, punching Method and Hybrid feeders into open water or to far-bank features on large commercial lakes; natural venue bream and skimmer tactics on big reservoirs, lakes and wide rivers where fish are held at range; and heavy feeder retrieval, where the internal gearing has the power to crank large, heavy feeders back repeatedly without straining the drive system. How does the 520 compare to the Inception 320 and 420 models? The 520 is the largest reel in the lineup, optimised for 60–80m casts and heavy feeder setups. The 320 is tailored to short-range work up to 40m, while the 420 is an all-rounder for mid-range feeder and waggler tactics. Can I get spare spools for the Inception 520? Yes, dedicated Preston Innovations Inception 520 spare spools are available separately, so you can switch between braid and monofilament on the bank. Is the line clip safe for thin braided mainlines? Yes. The spool's smooth metal line clip is designed to hold both mono and thin braided mainlines securely without pinching or damaging the line.
