Description

The Okuma Cavalla CAV-5II is a two-speed lever drag reel with a compact body designed for demanding conditions. Its construction centres on a 6061-T6 machined aluminium frame and side plates, with the rigid one-piece frame extending around to the non-handle side plate. This is paired with a cold-forged, type-II anodized machined aluminium spool. The drag system is a battle-proven carbonite setup using Cal's drag grease, delivering 24 to 34 pounds of drag at full. The 17-4 grade stainless steel main and pinion gears, along with the CRC (Corrosion Resistance Coating) process, make the reel virtually corrosion resistant. Four corrosion-resistant stainless steel bearings and a silent retrieve system contribute to smooth operation. The Cavalla 5-size reel offers gear ratios of 6.4:1 and 3.8:1, and is available in both left and right hand retrieve.
