The Shimano Ocea Jigger F Custom 1500 HG is an elite-tier overhead reel built for serious vertical jigging and deep-water fishing. It is the first Ocea Jigger to integrate Shimano's Fall Lever into the chassis, giving the angler precise control over the jig's descent as well as the retrieve. The Fall Lever replaces the need to feather the spool with your thumb, allowing single-handed adjustment of dropping resistance from the side plate. You can shift from a fast free-fall to an ultra-slow hover, which helps trigger strikes from fish tracking a slow-pitch jig. The reel's winding power comes from a combination of Shimano's internal drive systems. The Infinity Drive eliminates sliding resistance on the main pinion shaft for light, smooth cranking under load, while Micromodule Gear II uses precision-cut teeth to remove vibration. The HAGANE Body is a cold-forged, high-rigidity aluminium housing that prevents frame flex under pressure. Saltwater protection is handled by X-Protect and E.I. Treatment, which use a labyrinth water-repellent barrier and an anti-corrosion coating to keep critical bearings safe. The drag system uses waterproof carbon washers and produces an audible clicking sound during a run. The T-bar handle has been lightened and reshaped for a more ergonomic, slip-resistant grip. The 1500 HG size suits water depths between 50 and 150 metres. Its high-gear retrieve is useful for clearing bottom snags quickly and picking up slack line when slow-pitch jigging in current.
