Korda Krank Choddy Hooks

Description

The Korda Krank Choddy Hooks are an adaptation of the original Krank hook, specifically developed by Tom Dove for chod fishing presentations. This design maintains the unique curved shape and wide gape of the Krank, which are known to enhance hooking potential. A key feature of the Krank Choddy is its out-turned eye. This ensures that when the hook is used with stiff hooklink materials, such as Korda Mouth Trap, the hooklink and hook shank form a continuous curve, leading to an optimal chod rig presentation. This design also prevents the gape from closing, which can occur with stiff materials and an in-turned or straight eye hook, thereby maintaining effective hooking mechanics. The hook features a razor-sharp beaked point that is slightly offset. This combination, along with the wide gape, is engineered to increase the chances of a secure hook hold and provide an aggressive hooking angle. The Korda Krank Choddy Hooks are constructed to be very strong, making them suitable for demanding fishing conditions, including weedy and snaggy environments where reliable holding power is crucial when battling large carp. While primarily designed for chod and stiff rigs, they can also be effectively used with certain bottom-bait presentations that require an aggressive hook performance.
