The Nash Siren R4 Presentation Set is a complete bite alarm system built around the Siren R4, a head unit designed to handle the demands of modern carp fishing across a wide range of venues, from quiet estate lakes to large, exposed inland waters. Building on the speed-responsive indication concept of the earlier R3, the R4 aims to give the angler precise control over what the alarm reports, filtering out non-events caused by wave action or weed build-up while still registering genuine takes. The R4 offers several sensing modes. The factory default is Roller Wheel Sensing, which tracks standard line movement across the roller and suits situations like winter zigging where a slow line tightening is expected. Speed Sensing provides two sensitivity levels, responding to line movement faster than 1cm or 2cm per second respectively, to cut down on false indications. Wave Sensing, also with two settings, is designed for repeated wave action or boat fishing, registering events only after line moves faster than 1cm or 2cm per second and after 15 or 30cm of travel over the roller. Both Speed and Wave Sensing incorporate the Drift Sensing Safeguard, which protects against line creeping from the spool due to pressure that is too gentle to trigger standard speed detection. Every sensitivity setting includes a drop back alert with a decreasing tone, so the nature of a take can be identified audibly. The R4 also includes the Homecoming Mode, a rear LED that provides a navigational reference point for boat anglers returning to a swim after dark. The alarm is compatible with the Nash Night Glo range of indicators, which connect directly to the casing via an MMCX bayonet fitting and pulse in sync with the alarm LED.
