JAG Snag Ear Prolite Black is a rod-security accessory designed to work with a wide range of bite alarms, including the current Black Prolite and 316 ranges. The snag ear features a series of drilled holes at the top so an isotope can be added if desired, held in place by a small injection-moulded rubber insert marked with the JAG logo. Constructed from 316 marine grade steel and the same aluminium used in the Prolite range, the front of the snag ear has a series of grooves that allow the height to be set to personal preference. These grooves also add rigidity when combined with the supplied carriage, which uses a grub screw that locates on a milled flat at the rear of the ear. A laser-etched thumbscrew tightens the ear securely onto the baseplate. The base plates come in two sizes: small, compatible with smaller alarms like Nevilles and ATTs, and large, compatible with bigger alarms such as the Delkim or NTXR. Each base plate is milled in house by JAG engineers and includes a rear fitment for the snag ear to attach to, plus a 2BA thread on the front for screwing in indicators. The base plate is finished with a laser-etched JAG logo.
