The Fox 290 X is a 2.9m inflatable boat built to a high standard, with a design that includes several features unique to Fox. It is available in a distinctive khaki colour and can be set up either with an Air Deck and V Keel for a lighter, quicker build, or with a khaki aluminium floor for the strongest and safest standing platform. The Air Deck incorporates a secure aluminium plate on the underside to improve the standing surface, while the aluminium floor is designed for easy installation. A unique "Multi Bar" system holds either floor option in place. The boat is constructed from 9mm reinforced PVC khaki fabric, with increased-size outer tubes at 41cm diameter for stability and safety. A metal D ring on the front secures the boat or a landing net, and unique landing net holder straps sit on each side of the main tubes. The tube end design is intended to aid navigation and stability, making turning in wind and handling rods in wavy conditions easier, with metal D rings at each tube end for multiple uses. Ropes are supplied on each side and secured by these D rings. The main boat body uses a 3-chamber system with a security overpressure valve. The raised front and unique shape are designed for navigation in wind and waves, while extra length and width inside increase comfort. Under-boat protection is reinforced, and additional grab handles are positioned to balance the boat for easy carrying. A unique split sliding seat rail is easy to use and prevents spray or rain running down the seat, paired with a lightweight aluminium seat. A khaki-coloured plywood back plate for the motor and echo sounder is protected from water by increased PVC fabric, and extra-large echo sounder security plates guard the plywood from damage.
