The Penn Slammer IV Spinning Reel is built around a full metal body and sideplate for strength and rigidity. It uses CNC gear technology with a brass main gear for smooth, durable performance. The reel features an IPX6 sealed body and spool design, protecting internal components from water ingress. Sizes 3500 to 10500 are equipped with a sealed Slammer drag system using Dura-Drag, while the 2500 size uses HT-100 carbon fiber drag washers. The reel runs on an 8+1 stainless steel bearing system and includes a hydrophobic line roller bearing to shed water and reduce friction.
