The Avid VTX Bite Alarm Set is a two-rod kit from Avid Carp, comprising two alarm heads and a receiver, along with clip-on hardcases, a receiver lanyard, and a screwdriver. It is designed for carp and specimen anglers who want reliable bite detection with flexible setup options. The Bi-Directional Sensing roller wheel detects both forward and backward movement and offers eight sensitivity levels. A Multi-light LED System provides high-visibility twin LEDs with four colour choices – green, blue, red, and yellow – plus an optional night light. The VTX EPS Receiver Compatibility ensures stable signal transmission up to 150 metres between the alarms and receiver. For security, the SafeGuard Anti-Theft Alert System sounds a warning if an alarm head is powered off, while the receiver's bleep memory function identifies which rod was triggered last. The weather-sealed case protects the digital internals and keeps battery consumption low, powered by 2× AAA batteries (high-quality batteries are recommended for optimal performance). A Piezo speaker delivers crisp, clear sound, and a cyan LED indicates low battery, with battery levels also shown on the receiver at power-on. The alarm heads feature soft-touch side buttons for controlling power, LED settings, and tone, plus two adjustment dials for fine-tuning volume and sensitivity. Deep ears with rod-friendly rubber inlays keep rods secure and stable in all conditions. A rigid 3/8” no-twist thread with locking collar and rubber washer ensures firm, anti-rotation mounting, and a 2.5mm Power-Out Socket with weather-sealed bung allows use with illuminated swingers or bobbins.
