Shimano Yasei AX Dropshot Spin Rod

Description

The Shimano Yasei AX Dropshot Spin Rod is a mid-priced dropshot rod built around an extra fast action, designed to make dropshot fishing more efficient. The blank is beautifully balanced, with a sensitive tip for bite detection and a lower section with the backbone to strike quickly at the slightest touch. Shimano has a long history of building dropshot rods, and every detail of the Yasei AX Dropshot has been developed to combine a tip that registers the gentlest pulls and underwater features with a powerful butt that enhances striking speed. The sensitivity comes from the solid TAFTEC tip, an exclusive Shimano technology that allows finer, more sensitive tips while retaining the strength to cope with hard-fighting fish. The main body of the rod is a High Modulus Full Carbon blank built with Hi-Power X technology and Nano Alloy, which reduces blank twist when casting for more accuracy when fishing tight to features and better control when fighting larger predators. Fuji Alconite K-type guides in the latest design are lightweight and suited to the fine diameter braids used for perch. A Fuji reel seat sits on a custom-design split grip EVA handle, giving the range a modern appearance. The rod is available in two models: - 2.10m Medium Light, casting weight 5-18g, suitable for close range work and around bridges or obstacles - 2.40m Medium, casting weight 7-21g, suited to fishing further out into open water or where there is more current Both models balance a 2000 or 2500 sized reel.
