Description

The Daiwa Longbow Barbel Rod is a 12ft barbel rod built on a combination of carbon technologies intended to balance casting performance with fish-playing ability. The blank is through actioned but retains enough muscle for control and accuracy, using X45 Bias carbon for torque resistance and High Volume Fibre nanoplus for a high power-to-weight ratio. The V-Joint joint design eliminates flat spots so the rod curves smoothly under load. The range is offered in three test curves: 1.75lb for lighter feeders and smaller fish, 2.25lb as the more common all-round choice for a bigger mix of conditions, and 2.75lb for big rivers and heavier set-ups. The power progressive action is suited to river barbel fishing, where it gives control over hard-fighting fish, and the guides take mono or braid, so braid is an option in flood conditions.
