Description

The Westin W3 Twitch and Pop 3rd Generation is a spinning rod built for light tackle topwater predator fishing. Designed for use with spinning reels and surface lures, it has the fast tip action needed to make topwater baits work across the surface and invite strikes from predators. - Super-light, sensitive, fast tip action engineered to impart the correct swimming action to topwater lures, including poppers, walkers and chuggers - Sensitive blank helps you register every nibble and attack, giving you the split-second advantage needed to set the hook effectively - Casting weight of 5–21g, balanced for light to medium surface lures, for effortless casting and accuracy when reaching targets in shallow water - Suited to shallow water fishing for perch, chub, asp, bass, trout and small pike The 7'2" length, Medium (M) power and fast tip action are built for precision lure manipulation with a spinning reel. For "walk-the-dog" stickbaits, cast your surface stickbait (such as a Spitting or Gliding Popper) and hold the rod tip low, pointing toward the water. Retrieve the slack line while using sharp, rhythmic down-sweeps or twitches of the rod tip. The fast tip snaps the lure, creating a side-to-side zig-zag motion across the water surface that is highly attractive to perch and bass. For poppers and chuggers, cast near structure and twitch the rod tip sharply. Immediately retrieve the slack line and pause. The rod's action pulls the lure, causing it to "pop" or "spit" water, mimicking a distressed baitfish. The responsive blank transmits the lure's action clearly, so you can maintain rhythm and generate maximum surface commotion. For general topwater finesse, use small soft plastic topwater frogs or prop baits. The rod's light sensitivity allows for pinpoint accuracy when casting into tight cover and ensures you feel the strike even if the fish just "sips" the lure. - Model: W3 Twitch and Pop 3rd Gen - Length: 7'2" (2.18m) - Power: Medium (M) - Casting Weight: 5–21g - Sections: 2 sec - Blank Material: Torayca® High Performance Carbon blank - Reel Seat: Carbon SKS-LS - Guides: Seaguide TUXOLSG - Handle Material: High quality EVA - Hook Keeper: Seaguide TUHOOK#4
