Description
The Shimano TLD II is a two-speed lever drag multiplier reel that has long been regarded as an industry standard for affordable, high performance saltwater fishing. Its design suits British sea anglers who load up with monofilament or braided line and fish for a wide range of species with natural baits or artificial lures, whether at anchor or on the drift. The two-speed version is also a practical choice for anglers travelling abroad to target billfish, tuna and other large, powerful, fast-running species. - ARB: Shimano ARB bearings are designed to prevent rust, corrosion and oxidisation, which can reduce reel performance over time. They are fitted as standard on most Shimano freshwater reels and on all Shimano saltwater models. - 2 Speed Gearing: The shifting mechanism allows quick and easy gear changes, even while fighting a fish. The low gear ratio for high-power retrieves is selected by pushing the button on the base of the handle, and the high-speed ratio is restored by sliding the release button along the handle shank. Using two sets of gears means the drive and pinion gears are always engaged, with no gear meshing during the shift. - Waterproof Drag: Special protection gaskets shield the drag from water intrusion for more consistent drag performance. - Diecast Aluminium: Diecast aluminium is used for many types of reel and is most common on fixed spool reel bodies and rotors. It is also used for spools on P4 fixed spool reels and some baitcasting models. - XT7: XT7 is the original Shimano composite reel material, used on mid-priced and budget reels and spools, and is reliable, robust and lightweight. - Clicker System: Increases the tension on freespool and activates a clicking alarm when a fish bites.
